PTO

Who are we?  Solon Robinson Elementary PTO is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization and a 509(a)(2) public charity.  Our organization was formed specifically to support the staff and students/families of Solon Robinson Elementary.  Without the school, we would not exist.  Our mission is to enrich the lives of Solon Robinson Elementary students/families and staff by bringing into closer relation the home and the school.  In essence, we strive to build a stronger Solon Community.

Officer elections for PTO are held each Spring.  Our Executive Board volunteer positions are comprised of Solon parents.

Your 2025-2026 PTO officers are:

Amanda Vagelatos, President

Andrea Choate, Vice President

Teresa Kowalczyk, Secretary

Aimee Copenhafer, Treasurer

What do we do?  The PTO organizes and spearheads school community building and fundraising events in order to support opportunities for students/families and staff not allocated for within the school budget.

What types of events/initiatives does the PTO support?  Currently, the PTO underwrites and/or plans for events such as Monthly First Friday Birthday Sundaes, Beekeeper of the Month, Mentor/Student nights, Kindergarten Kick-Off, Kindergarten Signing Day, Staff Appreciation, 5th Grade Celebration Luncheon, among other initiatives.  New ideas are always welcome and appreciated!

Educational Support:  Every Solon teacher may access up to $175 in PTO reimbursement for classroom supplies not provided for within the budget, and administration has access to a $350 allotment for items that will benefit the school. Additionally, the PTO underwrites DARE program costs, a 5th grade celebration luncheon, as well as funding two $500 scholarships/year for former Stingers toward their first year of college.

How do I get involved?  Everyone is encouraged to become involved by attending monthly PTO meetings, held in the STEM room the second Wednesday of each month at 4pm, serving on committees (when available), volunteering for events, participating in our monthly Solon Community Support Nights, participating in our fundraising efforts or donating requested items.
