Attendance is so crucial to student learning. It is of utmost importance that students are in school each and everyday, all day. We understand the difficulties associated with medical appointments. If at all possible try to make appointments after school.
To report an absence parents must call before 9:30 am. We have a 24-hr. answering service so call as soon as you know your child will be absent.
To provide for an efficient and safe dismissal, students leave school from different exits depending on their grade level and means of travel. Older student always join their younger siblings at the dismissal door designated for younger students.
The front circle drive is designated for buses; please keep this area clear.
Arrival should begin no earlier than 8:40
Enter in the main parking lot, not the front circle drive. Students may be dropped off near the main entrance.
Parents who wish to walk their child up to the door should park first.
Students in grades K-3 will enter at the main door 2W.
Students in grades 4-5 will enter at the front door marked 1W.
Arrive from Wells Street, headed West and form a single file line. Please have a sign with your child's name visible in your car's windshield. The car line will move up to the door marked 9E. Older children will meet their younger siblings at this exit, which is by the music room. Please do not cut through the main lot to help traffic flow.
Students will be escorted out of door 1W by teachers. The teachers will cross the children on Pettibone Street in front of the building. Parents can park on Pettibone, following the law, and stay in the car. The students will meet you at your car.
Parent volunteers, sharing their time and enthusiasm with our students, help make our school the exceptional place it is. Discuss opportunities to plan class parties, chaperone field trips, or helping in the classroom with your child's teacher. Consider joining the Solon Robinson Elementary PTO to help plan events and fundraisers.
All volunteers do need to complete a volunteer release form before working in the building or around children.
CPCSC offers a before and after school child care program (also called Latch Key care) at each elementary before school from 6:00-9:00 a.m. and after school from 3:45-6:30 p.m. On scheduled e-learning days child care will be available from 6:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. at Solon Robinson and Jerry Ross Elementary Schools.
